Thomas J. Pigott

Thomas J. Pigott, 42, of Gresham, passed away unexpectedly on Friday evening, April 13, 2018, at his home.

Tom was born May 28, 1975, in (Upstate) Carmel, New York, a son of Thomas Pigott and the late Geertje (Smit) Pigott. He attended school in Powling, New York, and finished his senior year at Shawano High School. Following school, he worked at Aarrowcast in Shawano, and also did carpentry work. He was also a handyman at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Gresham. He loved to do crossword puzzles.

Survivors include his son, Noah; his father, Thomas Pigott, of Gresham; his brother, Timothy (KristyLyn) Pigott, of Gresham; his sister, Nancy (Mike) DelDuco, of York, South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Geerje, in April 2010.

A celebration of Thomas’ life will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018, from 2-7 p.m. at Herman Town Hall, N5628 County Road U, Shawano.

Geraldine L. Belongia

Geraldine L. Belongia, 87, of Appleton, formerly of Gresham, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, April 18, 2018, at Rennes Health and Rehab Center in Appleton.

Geraldine was born Jan. 29, 1931, in Ladysmith, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Pearl (Ewer) Douglas. She attended Ladysmith schools and graduated from Ladysmith High School. She then attended art school. On Jan. 5, 1952, she was united in marriage to Harold J. Belongia in Kaukauna. He preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 1985. Following their wedding, the couple lived in Dayton, Ohio, and Green Bay before setting in Gresham in 1972.

Geraldine was a wife and homemaker, staying home to raise her children. She is a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Gresham. She loved her family, drawing and playing cards. She was also a good storyteller.

Franklin “Ben” B. Hoppe, age 81 of Shawano, formerly of Clintonville, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in Appleton.

Marjorie D. Peterson

Marjorie D. (Rosenow) Peterson, 94, of Shawano, passed away on Thursday afternoon, April 19, 2018, at Kindred Hearts Assisted Living in Shawano where she had been a resident for over 10 years.

Marjorie was born on Nov. 21, 1923, in Bonduel, the daughter of the late Seny and Minnie (Weier) Beilfuss. Marge was raised in Bonduel, and was a graduate of Bonduel High School, she had been employed as a sales coordinator at Consolidated Badger Cooperative for over 26 years, retiring in 1985.

In 1942, she was united in marriage to Vernal Rosenow. Mr. Rosenow preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 1986. In 1988, Marge married Ward Peterson in Bonduel, and following their marriage, the couple resided in Shawano. Mr. Peterson preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 2010.

Gary Thoms, 69, of the Town of Belle Plaine, Shawano County, died peacefully in his daughter’s arms Tuesday morning, April 17, 2018 at his home.

Bertha M. Sutter

A memorial celebration of Bertha M. Sutter’s life will take place on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. The Rev. Tom Farrell will officiate. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Shawano. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred in Bertha’s name to the Sacred Heart Catholic School library in Shawano, or the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in St. Louis, Missouri.

Marie E. Dicke

Marie E. Dicke, 93, of Appleton, formerly of Shawano, passed away on Wednesday evening, March 7, 2018.

Marie was born May 16, 1924, in Shawano, the first of five children and the only daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Zeeman) Montoure. She was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. She graduated from Shawano High School, and St. Agnes Nursing School in Fond du Lac as a Registered Nurse.

Ryan Kamps

On April 16, 2018, we lost our beloved son, brother and friend. Ryan Kamps, 35, passed away at his home after struggling with mental health issues. He is now freed from his pain. He was born Feb. 23, 1983, to Daniel and Debra (Bartz) Kamps. Ryan graduated as valedictorian from Pilgrim Lutheran School and with high honors from Green Bay West High School in 2001. During his time as a Wildcat, he was a member of the National Honor Society, the recipient of the Brian LaViolette Scholarship, Student of the Year, and a standout baseball and basketball player. He continued his education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in materials and science engineering after an internship at Kohler. He lived and worked in Milwaukee as a metalurgical engineer.

Ellyn J. Buckbee

Ellyn Jane Buckbee, 65, of Shawano, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018. Ellyn was born in Paducah, Kentucky, on July 26, 1952, the daughter of the late Charles “Bud” and Winnfred (Polzar) Buckbee. Ellyn loved the Girl Scouts and was a troop leader for the Fox River Council. Ellyn enjoyed being outdoors in nature and loved animals, especially horses. She enjoyed horseback riding and attended numerous local trail rides. Ellyn also enjoyed country line dancing.

Ellyn is survived by two daughters, Heather (Doug) Van Remortel, of Green Bay, and Sara (Joseph) Rudesill Jr., of Rhinelander; two grandchildren, J.T. and Cordelia; her brother, Chuck Buckbee; her nephew, Shane (Leslie) Buckbee; great-niece, Miley Buckbee; and great-nephew, Braxton Buckbee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; special aunt, Charlotte; and sister-in-law, Peggy.
