Corbin B. Miller

A memorial service for Corbin Miller will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano. The Rev. Aaron Hose will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until the time of service.

Beatrice ‘Bea’ Martin

Beatrice “Bea” Martin, 89, of Clintonville, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019. Bea was born on Sept. 23, 1929, to the late James and Bernice (Calhoun) Soufal. On May 16, 1953, Bea was united in marriage to James Martin in Shawano. James preceded Bea in death on July 12, 1977. After graduating from high school, Bea attended St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Green Bay, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing. Bea’s 44-year nursing career included employment with St. Mary’s Hospital and Shawano Hospital. During her husband’s career in the U.S. Air Force Strategic Air Command, Bea’s employment also spanned to Denver, Colorado; Fort Worth, Texas; and Fort Fairfield, Maine. Upon returning to Milwaukee, she worked at St. Luke’s Hospital for five years, then dedicated 23 years to Mount Sinai Medical Center, where she was the nursing director in the newborn nursery for a time.

William L. Hokenstad

William L. Hokenstad, 75, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at Crossroads Care Center of Crystal River, Waupaca, under the care of Heartland Hospice. He was born May 20, 1943, in Cambridge to the late Clifford and Jane (Montour) Hokenstad. He grew up in Carter, Belle Plaine, Shawano, and Bonduel. Bill graduated from Bonduel High School in 1961 and then joined the Marine Corps where he honorably served until 1965. On May 21, 1966, he married Janette Wiharms in Appleton. After 35 years of dedicated work for Miller Electric Manufacturing, Bill retired and pursued his dream of building a cabin on the Turtle Flambeau Flowage. Bill loved working on cars but his true passion was being outdoors and fishing and hunting with his family and friends.

Wayne E. Jarvis

Wayne E. Jarvis, 86, of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 11, 2019. Wayne was born Dec. 2, 1932, in Racine to Wallace and Edna (Brandes) Jarvis. He attended Union Grove High School, graduating in 1950. Following high school, Wayne was employed at Shepherd Metal Company in Racine. He went on to work as a postman for several years.

On Oct. 11, 1954, Wayne was united in marriage to the former Eldien Albright in Union Grove, where they lived for many years. Wayne went on to work for Consolidated Freight Company in Milwaukee, retiring after 28 years. Wayne was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Union Grove. He was also a proud member of the Teamsters Union. In 2000, the couple relocated to Shawano. Wayne enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, and relaxing outdoors.

LuAnn L. Lance

LuAnn L. Lance died peacefully at home surrounded by family on April 13, 2019 at the age of 64, after a lengthy battle with melanoma. She was born on Sept. 28, 1954, in Shawano to the late Arthur and Martha (Riske) Schoepke.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., Green Bay, on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.

Clarence Manthei

Clarence Manthei, 83, of Shawano, died on Saturday, April 13, 2019, while under hospice care at ThedaCare in Appleton. Born in Oshkosh on Dec. 3, 1935, he is the son of the late Henry and Luella (Pietz) Manthei. He graduated from Oshkosh High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Clarence was united in marriage to Marilyn Vaessen on Aug. 24, 1963, in West De Pere. Clarence worked as the chief accountant at Appleton Memorial, Shawano Medical Center, and Maple Lane. He was an active member of the Wisconsin Deer Hunters Shawano Chapter, Wolf River Carving Club, and an avid wood carver, hunter, fisherman, camper, as well as a Brewer and Packer fan.

Peggy Dostalek

On Thursday, April 11, heaven welcomed a very special angel, soulmate, and mother. Peggy Dostalek (nee Dick) was born Feb. 20, 1958, in Keshena to Viola and Bernard Dick.

She lived on the Menominee Indian reservation for much of her early life. She lived and worked in Milwaukee until she relocated to Clintonville. She loved life and will be missed by friends and family.

Peggy is survived by her life partner, Steve Vollrath, and her daughter, Bernadette Dostalek.

Chester F. Neumann Sr., 72, of Bear Creek, passed away Friday morning, April 12, 2019, at his home.
