Daniel Jay ‘Digger’ Kretschmann

Daniel Jay “Digger” Kretschmann, 57, of Shawano, ran into the arms of his son, Michael, on Saturday, July 7, 2018, in Appleton. Born on Dec. 8, 1960, in Lake Mills, he is the son of Barbara (Nytes) Kretschmann and the late Jerome Kretschmann. Dan is a 1979 graduate of Watertown High School. There are no negative words when describing Digger. He was a hard-working, family-loving man who knew the first time he laid eyes on Lisa, he was going to marry her and build a family. Dan and Lisa decided 15 years ago that they were going to take a shot at owning their own monument company and jumped straight into the deep end, moving their family to an unfamiliar area and taking out a loan where they had no other choice but to make it work. His cool demeanor was instrumental in his success, never raised his voice or got too worked up over the small things, which in the end, are all small things. He worked hard so that he and his family could live their best lives, and they did.
