Shawano finishes fourth at Jaguar Invite

<p>The Shawano girls varsity swim team came away with fourth place out of 16 teams Saturday at the Ashwaubenon Jaguar Swim Meet at Lawrence University.</p><p>Individual winners for Shawano were MacKenzie Soper, first in the 500-yard freestyle and second in the 200-yard freestyle, and Kenzie Buss, first in the 100 backstroke and second in the 200 individual medley.</p><p>Other results: Andie Villez, eighth, 100 breast, and 13th, 200 freestyle; Natalie Colon, 11th, 200 individual medley, and seventh, 500 freestyle; Malory Soper, sixth, 50 freestyle, and sixth, 10

<p>The Shawano boys soccer team grabbed a win on the road Tuesday in Denmark.</p><p>Shawano won 10-0.</p><p>Three Shawano players -- Mark Mallett, David Meisner and Garrett Schlise -- had two goals each.

Only one undefeated team remains

The Central Wisconsin Conference-8 saw its two best varsity volleyball teams -- 5-0 Menominee Indian and 5-0 Tigerton -- go head-to-head Tuesday night in Keshena.

Tigerton and Menominee Indian traded close 25-23 sets to start the night off. Then Tigerton took control, winning 25-18 in the third set and 25-12 in the fourth, and giving the Lady Tigers the 3-1 victory.

"They had us on the ropes the whole time," Tigerton coach Glenda Smith said. "We were kind of tentative tonight. Kind of tense."

Lady Hawks beat North Fondy in three

The Shawano varsity volleyball team defeated North Fond Du Lac in three sets on the road Tuesday night.

The Lady Hawks won the first 25-21, the second 25-14 and finished up with a 25-15 win.

Emily Klitzke had nine kills for Shawano. Kailene Young had seven kills, while Ashley Ainsworth had nine assists, 16 points and four aces. Brianna Waukau had nine assists and kills. Mikayla Schoening had 18 digs, 22 points and nine aces. Breanna Young had 17 points and three aces.

The Lady Hawks are 18-10 on the year.

They will face New London at home Thursday night.

Shawano golfers third;Lamberies is medalist

The Shawano varsity girls golf team took third place at the Bay Conference tournament on Tuesday at Wander Springs Golf Course in Greenleaf.

Shawano shot a team score of 388. Marinette won the tournament with a 374, while Denmark came in second with a 381.

Leading the Hawks was Leslie Lamberies, who shot the best individual score of the tournament, 85. Also in the top 10 for Shawano was Ariana Klemens, with a fifth-place 92.

Cherish Buss shot a 107, Megan Beck shot a 121 and Alison VanGrinsven scored a 104.

Bonduel beats Iola-Scandinavia in four sets

The Bonduel varsity girls volleyball team faced Iola-Scandinavia at home Tuesday night, winning in four sets.

Bonduel split the first two sets, winning the first 25-19 and losing the second 25-20, before winning the last two, 25-20 and 25-11.

Ali Letter led the Bears with 16 points and 11 assists. Christina Dobratz had five aces. Abby Reinke had 25 assists and 10 kills, while Terra Moede had 13 kills and 23 digs.

The win lifts Bonduel to 2-3 in the Central Wisconsin Conference-8 and 10-8 overall.

Three Shawano players -- Mark Mallett, David Meisner and Garrett Schlise -- had two goals each. Cody Urban, Andrew Knope, Matt Koehler and Corbin Putz also scored a goal each.

The win lifts the Hawks to 2-6 in the Bay Conference and 2-12 overall.

Shawano will host a game against Marinette on Thursday.

At Kaukauna Invite

The Shawano boys soccer team struggled at the Kaukauna Invite on Saturday, falling to both Kaukauna and Watertown.
