Eagles earn right to host tourney

It was parents' night Tuesday in the crowded gymnasium at Menominee Indian High School as the girls volleyball team took on Rosholt for second place in the Central Wisconsin Conference-10.

The parents weren't disappointed.

The Lady Eagles defeated Rosholt in three sets: 26-24, 25-21 and 25-19.

In the close first set, the Lady Eagles took a 25-24 lead and then Eleanor Wayka's powerful spike put a ball right into the center of Rosholt's defense to give her team the win.

Tigerton stays perfect, downs Port Edwards

<p>The Tigerton volleyball team heads into the Central Wisconsin Conference-10 pool play tournament Saturday with a 9-0 record after rolling past Port Edwards on Tuesday night, 3-0.</p><p>Tigerton won the games 25-13, 25-17 and 25-6.</p><p>Miranda Michaelis led the Tigers with 18 points and seven assists, while Erin Ortner had 17 points, seven kills and seven digs. Fara Sellner had 12 points and seven digs.</p><p>Emily Ortner finished with 17 kills and nine digs. Rachel Robbins had 17 assists.

Lady Hawks eliminated at sectionals

<p>The Shawano girls golf team finished in seventh place at the WIAA girls golf sectionals Tuesday at Royal Scot Golf Course in New Franken.</p><p>The Lady Hawks shot a 401.</p><p>The sectional winners were Notre Dame, with a 335, and Sheboygan North/Sheboygan South, with a 348.

Lady Hawks beat West De Pere in five

<p>The Shawano varsity volleyball team defeated West De Pere 3-2 Tuesday.</p><p>The Hawks won the first two sets 25-23 before West De Pere won two sets 25-17.</p><p>Shawano sealed the win with a 15-12 fifth set.</p><p>The stat leaders for Shawano were Emily Klitzke, 13 attack kills and two block kills; Kailene Young, nine attack kills, three block kills and three aces; Mikayla Schoening, 36 digs and two service aces; Ashley Ainsworth, 34 assists and 17 digs.</p><p>The Hawks are 4-2 in the Bay Conference and will play Oconto Falls at home

Tigerton stays perfect, downs Port Edwards

The Tigerton volleyball team heads into the Central Wisconsin Conference-10 pool play tournament Saturday with a 9-0 record after rolling past Port Edwards on Tuesday night, 3-0.

Tigerton won the games 25-13, 25-17 and 25-6.

Leslie Lamberies had the best score for the Lady Hawks, shooting a 89 and tying for the 12th best score of the sectional.
