Bears lose in three-straight to Pacelli

The Bonduel varsity volleyball team lost in three games to Pacelli.

Pacelli won the first game 25-13, won the second 25-21 and won the third 25-12.

Abby Reinke led the team in kills, assists, blocks and digs.

The loss puts Bonduel at 1-3 in the Central Wisconsin Conference - 8.

The Bonduel junior varsity volleyball team won against Pacelli 2-1.

Bonduel will attend a quadrangle Saturday hosted by Menominee Indian.

Shawano swims away from New London

On a night filled with personal bests, Shawano girls varsity swim team had a clean sweep of New London Thursday evening in Shawano.

Shawano won every heat at the event and finished with a score of 103 to New London's 67.

"They did great today," Shawano swim coach Jim Philbrick said. "A lot of swimmers had their personal best."

Freshman swimmer Ali Hanson had personal best times in the 200 yard freestyle (2:11.67), good for second place, and the 100 butterfly (1:09.34), good for third.

Lady Hawks stopped by Bulldogs

Three of the four Shawano singles players earned victories Thursday night, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Hawks fell to New London 4-3 at Shawano.

Shawano's Helena Klemens defeated New London's Kendra Krueger 7-5, both sets, while the Hawks' Molly Buettner held off Courtney Olson 6-1 and 7-6 (7-5).

At No. 3 singles, Shawano's Rachel Tierney won over New London's Autumn Schirpke 6-3 and 6-2, while at No. 4 singles Shawano's Jordan Riemer fell to Allie Hren 2-6 and 3-6.

Wildcats blanked 3-0 by Truckers

The Gresham/Bowler varsity soccer team lost on the road in Clintonville Thursday night.

The Wildcats had 10 shots on goal, but could not find the net.

Gresham/Bowler goalie Walker Miller had 20 saves.

The Wildcats will be on the road on Saturday for a tournament in Antigo.

Speedway closes season with full night of racing

Though not a point night, the Shawano Speedway held one more race last Saturday night.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->Terry Anvelink, David Fieber, Lance Arneson, Dan Michonski, Clint Forstner and Scott Blanke prevailed in their respective divisions.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->"The Tiger" Craig Bartz rocketed from his outside front-row starting spot to grab the lead at the start of the Wissota Late Model feature. By lap two, Bartz was being pressured by Anvelink. Anvelink used an inside move to power by Bartz on lap 6.
