The Bonduel volleyball team couldn't find a way to hold off Central Wisconsin Conference-8 foe Weyauwega-Fremont on Thursday night, falling to the Indians 3-0 at Bonduel High School.

The Bears stuck with Weyauwega-Fremont in every game, but the Indians were able to build momentum at the end of each game and pull in the victory.

"They have that strength, they have always been that way," Bonduel coach Dawn Scheelk said. "They're a comeback team and they fight until the end of the game and that's what my girls need to learn."

Shawano boys grab first at Chargers Invite

The Shawano boys cross country team claimed first place in the Division 1 race at the Chargers Invitational hosted by Wittenberg-Birnamwood Tuesday afternoon.

The Hawks placed first with a score of 34, while Lakeland Union took second with a 73 as Antigo and Witt-Birn tied for third with 87s.

In the Division 2 race, Bonduel picked up second with 58 points as Rosholt was first with 24 and Iola-Scandinavia took third with 70.

Gresham lost in four games (21-25, 25-22, 22-25, 10-25) and has a 3-3 record, 0-2 in the conference.

Larrisa Cerveny had seven kills and 25 digs while Jasmine Hoffman had 12 assists.

Gresham's junior varsity team went 3-0 against Tri County and is 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

Gresham will host Bowler on Thursday.

Williams and Olsen knock in pair of goals

The Gresham/Bowler varsity boys soccer team beat Wisconsin Valley Lutheran 5-1 Tuesday afternoon in Gresham.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->Austin Olsen opened the scoring in the first half and added a goal in the second half. Tom Williams had two goals and an assist, while Christian Haffner scored once and also had an assist.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->Goalie Walker Miller had nine saves.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->The Wildcats' next game is 5 p.m. Friday at Northland Lutheran.
