Volleyball roundup

The Bonduel girls volleyball team went 1-1 Thursday at the Manitowoc Roncalli triangular in Manitowoc.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->Bonduel lost to Roncalli 18-25, 21-25 and beat Cedarburg 25-21, 22-25, 15-7.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->Bonduel's Jenni Dowden had 14 service points, two aces and 15 digs, while teammate Abby Reinke had 13 service points, 13 assists and eight aces.

The Bonduel girls volleyball team went 1-1 Thursday at the Manitowoc Roncalli triangular in Manitowoc.

Bonduel lost to Roncalli 18-25, 21-25 and beat Cedarburg 25-21, 22-25, 15-7.

Bonduel's Jenni Dowden had 14 service points, two aces and 15 digs, while teammate Abby Reinke had 13 service points, 13 assists and eight aces. Terra Moede had eight kills and 14 digs.

Bonduel hosts its invite Tuesday at Bonduel High School.

Shawano takes 12th at Ashwaubenon

The Shawano girls golf team placed 12th out of 15 teams at a modified team scramble Thursday at the Highland Ridge Golf Course in Ashwaubenon.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->The Lady Hawks shot an 82, while Green Bay Notre Dame won the scramble with a team score of 67. Marinette took second with 69 and Freedom shot an even par, 72.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->Shawano will attend a Bay Conference meet in Marinette on Monday.

Mistakes, turnovers plague Eagles

Almond-Bancroft beat Menominee Indian 41-7 in a nonconference game Thursday afternoon at Menominee Indian High School.

"We killed ourselves," said Menominee Indian coach Chris Clache. "There wasn't anything we weren't expecting."

Menominee Indian had 12 penalties for 135 yards. The team also had a disastrous fourth quarter in which it lost three fumbles - including one on a kick return.

The Eagles also had a turnover in the first half when quarterback Alex Wynos' pass was picked off and returned for a touchdown.
