Bonduel earned the top spot in the Menominee Indian volleyball quadrangular Saturday, finishing with an 8-1 record. Menominee Indian placed second with a 7-2 record.

The two teams' only losses were to each other in the final match of the meet. Three Lakes was third and Lena was fourth.

Bonduel opened with a 3-0 win over Lena (25-10, 25-11, 25-14) and also stopped Three Lakes in three (25-14, 25-14, 25-21).

Eagles shut out White Lake/Elcho for homecoming win

Alex Wynos put up two rushing touchdowns as he led his Menominee Indian football team past White Lake/Elcho 36-0 Saturday afternoon for the Eagles' first homecoming win in four years.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->"We got a goose-eggs today and it's been four years since we've had a shutout, so this feels good, especially on homecoming," said Menominee Indian coach Chris Clache.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->Menominee Indian controlled the game from the start.

Eagles shut out White Lake/Elcho for homecoming win

Alex Wynos put up two rushing touchdowns as he led his Menominee Indian football team past White Lake/Elcho 36-0 Saturday afternoon for the Eagles' first homecoming win in four years.

"We got a goose-eggs today and it's been four years since we've had a shutout, so this feels good, especially on homecoming," said Menominee Indian coach Chris Clache.

Menominee Indian controlled the game from the start. White Lake/Elcho was unable to stop the Eagle's run game.

Shawano holds off Hortonville in 5th game

The Hortonville varsity girls volleyball team pushed Shawano into five sets Thursday before the Lady Hawks pulled out the victory.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->The Lady Hawks won the fifth set decisively, 15-9. Shawano won the first and third sets 26-24.

Shawano holds off Hortonville in 5th game

The Hortonville varsity girls volleyball team pushed Shawano into five sets Thursday before the Lady Hawks pulled out the victory.

The Lady Hawks won the fifth set decisively, 15-9. Shawano won the first and third sets 26-24. Hortonville won the second 28-26 and the fourth 25-16.

Despite some service and unforced errors, the Lady Hawks' offense was solid, hitting collectively at a .234 percentage, and was supported by a very strong defensive effort, Shawano coach Jean Balke said.

Hawks come up short

Shawano wide receiver Mitch Mazemke already had a 35-yard touchdown catch in the game and a 60-yard catch on the drive to set up the Hawks 10 yards from the Seymour goal line.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->Trailing by seven points and with a minute left in the game Friday, the Hawks - forced to go for it on fourth down after two incompletions and a sack - once again turned to Mazemke.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->Lukas Postl threw a rainbow into the back corner of the end zone and Mazemke hauled it in, cutting Seymour's lead to one point, 20-19.<br /
