Hawk boys 2nd, girls 7th at invitational

Shawano Community High School played host to 25 cross country teams Saturday for the Shawano Invite.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->The Shawano boys cross country team took second place in division 1 with 65 points. Green Bay Preble won division 1 with 31 points.

Hawk boys 2nd, girls 7th at invitational

Shawano Community High School played host to 25 cross country teams Saturday for the Shawano Invite.

The Shawano boys cross country team took second place in division 1 with 65 points. Green Bay Preble won division 1 with 31 points. Green Bay East earned 85 points and took third.

Leading Shawano were Alexander Buss, who ran fifth with a time of 17:16, and Riley Tuma, who ran sixth in 17:22.

Seymour won the division 2 race with 57 points.

QB scores 30 against MIHS

The Menominee Indian varsity football team had no answer for Laona/Wabeno's quarterback Eric Rosio on Saturday afternoon.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->The Eagles lost to the Rebels 43-14.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->Rosio rushed for three touchdowns, passed for another and scored another touchdown when he recovered a fumble in the Menominee Indian end zone.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->Menominee Indian is 1-3, 1-1 in the Northern Lakes Conference. Laona/Wabeno is 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

QB scores 30 against MIHS

The Menominee Indian varsity football team had no answer for Laona/Wabeno's quarterback Eric Rosio on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles lost to the Rebels 43-14.

Rosio rushed for three touchdowns, passed for another and scored another touchdown when he recovered a fumble in the Menominee Indian end zone.

Menominee Indian is 1-3, 1-1 in the Northern Lakes Conference. Laona/Wabeno is 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

The Gresham/Bowler soccer team improved to 6-4 overall Friday with a 2-0 shutout over Northland Lutheran in Wausau.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->Tom Williams scored both of Gresham/Bowler's goals - the first in the first half off of an assist from Austin Olsen and the second unassisted in the second half.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->Walker Miller finished with nine saves for Gresham/Bowler. The Wildcats had 14 shots at goal.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->Gresham/Bowler will be at Clintonville at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Gresham/Bowler soccer team improved to 6-4 overall Friday with a 2-0 shutout over Northland Lutheran in Wausau.

Tom Williams scored both of Gresham/Bowler's goals - the first in the first half off of an assist from Austin Olsen and the second unassisted in the second half.

Walker Miller finished with nine saves for Gresham/Bowler. The Wildcats had 14 shots at goal.

Gresham/Bowler will be at Clintonville at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Hawks good for third at West De Pere meet

Shawano took third place at the Bay Conference varsity girls golf meet Thursday at Mid Vallee Golf Course in De Pere.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->The Hawks shot a 200 that trailed only Denmark at 187 and Marinette at 178.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->Ariana Klemens led Shawano with a 46, the sixth-best individual score of the meet. Alison VanGrinsven shot a ninth-best 48.
