Shawano boys cross country takes fourth at Terror Invite

The Shawano boys cross country team placed fourth and the girls placed ninth at the 12-team Appleton West Terror Invite to open the season Friday in Appleton.

"I think our kids did a fantastic job," Shawano cross country coach Steve Stomberg said. "As the season goes on we'll get better. "

Shawano boys had 99 points. Senior Alexander Buss had Shawano's top time, and the third best time of the invite, with 16:37. Teammate junior Riley Tuma raced second with a time of 16:38 (fourth overall). Sophomore Travis Greenen had Shawano's third-best time at 18:00 and came in 20th.

Volleyball Roundup

<p>The Bonduel girls volleyball team went 1-1 Thursday at the Manitowoc Roncalli triangular in Manitowoc.</p><p>Bonduel lost to Roncalli 18-25, 21-25 and beat Cedarburg 25-21, 22-25, 15-7.</p><p>Bonduel's Jenni Dowden had 14 service points, two aces and 15 digs, while teammate Abby Reinke had 13 service points, 13 assists and eight aces.

Shawano places 13th at Ashwaubenon team scramble

<p>Shawano takes 12th at Ashwaubenon</p><p>The Shawano girls golf team placed 12th out of 15 teams at a modified team scramble Thursday at the Highland Ridge Golf Course in Ashwaubenon.</p><p>The Lady Hawks shot an 82, while Green Bay Notre Dame won the scramble with a team score of 67. Marinette took second with 69 and Freedom shot an even par, 72.</p><p>Shawano will attend a Bay Conference meet in Marinette on Monday.</p>
