Student Council matched that amount and sent a check to Breast Cancer Research for $350.

Shawano Community High School

The Student Council collected $173 from the fundraiser Oct. 25 for Breast Cancer Awareness Day. Student Council matched that amount and sent a check to Breast Cancer Research for $350. Thanks to all who participated and helped make this day a great success.

Olga Brener Intermediate School in Shawano received $5,000 through a Sharing the Dream grant to expand its spring culture and arts event, the Showcase of Colors.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->"We were thrilled to get this grant," principal Karen Smith said.

Grant will help expand Showcase of Colors

Olga Brener Intermediate School in Shawano received $5,000 through a Sharing the Dream grant to expand its spring culture and arts event, the Showcase of Colors.

"We were thrilled to get this grant," principal Karen Smith said. "It will enable us to do more with the event and foster diversity in our kids, families and staff."

Olga Brener was among 25 schools across the United States to be selected based on innovative ways of engaging communities and promoting diversity.

Shawano Community High School will host its 20th annual Dinner Dance Review next week.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->More than 60 high school singers and musicians will perform nightly on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, showcasing Broadway and pop music favorites for diners and dancers.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->"It's an amazing event, there's nothing else like it in town," said Chris Kent, band director. "Everything takes place on the auditorium stage.

Shawano Community High School will host its 20th annual Dinner Dance Review next week.

More than 60 high school singers and musicians will perform nightly on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, showcasing Broadway and pop music favorites for diners and dancers.

"It's an amazing event, there's nothing else like it in town," said Chris Kent, band director. "Everything takes place on the auditorium stage. It's closed in and has a nightclub feel, especially with the professional lighting and sound."
