Roger Breitzman

Roger A. Breitzman, 76, of Cecil, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019, in Seymour. Roger was born in Shawano on Feb. 14, 1943, son of Irene (Wolf) Breitzman and the late Roger Breitzman. Roger graduated from Bonduel High School in 1961. On Oct. 24, 1964, Roger was united in marriage to J. Jean Tuschy at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hayes. Roger worked for Gabe’s Construction for a time before taking over the family dairy farm, which he and his family owned and operated for many years. Roger was also formerly the Green Valley town supervisor and chairman, and he held a position representing Green Valley on the Shawano County Board, positions he thoroughly enjoyed. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling, going to Brewers games and playing cards. He loved to travel and enjoyed yearly fishing trips to Canada. Roger loved people; he was a wonderful storyteller with a sarcastic wit, and he loved to make people laugh.

Eldora L. Engelhardt

Eldora L. Engelhardt, 85, of Pella, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at HSHS St. Vincent’s Hospital in Green Bay. She was born on Aug. 12, 1933, to the late Fred and Helen (Kallies) Moesch. On June 21, 1952, she was united in marriage to John W. Engelhardt at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. John preceded Eldora in death on March 4, 2000.

Eldora farmed with her husband, John, in the town of Pella in addition to being a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed her love of gardening, reading, and traveling. She was an animal lover and especially enjoyed feeding and watching birds.

Esther E. Strassburg

Esther Emma Strassburg, 97, of Bowler, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019, at Shawano Place Assisted Living under the care of ThedaCare at Home Hospice.

She was born in the town of Fairbanks, Shawano County, on Oct. 18, 1921, the daughter of the late Walter and Clara (Reinert) Grenz. On Sept. 25, 1943, she was united in marriage to Theodore “Ted” Strassburg. The couple farmed in the town of Almon, moving to Bowler in 1996. Together they had three beautiful daughters. They were married for 64 years when Ted preceded her in death July 11, 2008.

Joseph A. ‘Joey’ Besaw Sr.

Joseph A. Besaw Sr., “Wapah ̶ Mekon,” 61, of Keshena, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019, in Shawano. He was born in Keshena on June 16, 1957, to the late Glenn and Eldora (Beauprey) Besaw. Joey was a 1976 graduate of Shawano High School. He was employed by Menominee Tribal Enterprises since the mid-1970s, where he worked in the sales department for 23 years, part of which as the sales director. Joey was a member of the board of directors for MTE since 1997, and was the current chairman. He was a Menominee resident his entire life. He was well-known as a champion fancy dancer and entertained crowds across the Midwest as a pow wow emcee. Joey could make each person he visited with feel as though they were his favorite person. He enjoyed making everyone laugh and feel welcome, with story-telling and endless jokes. He was warm-hearted, giving and loved spending time with his grandchildren, and he was a mentor to many young people.

Funeral services for Grace Mae Tetting will be held Friday, June 7, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Shawano. Pastor Wolf Parsons will officiate. Interment will be held at Lake Drive Cemetery, Town of Wescott. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. at the church and continue until the hour of service.

Robert Paiser

Robert “Bob” Paiser, 86, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2019, at his home.

Bob was a member of the Special Forces Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9103, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 46 and the Retired Military Association of North Carolina. He was a Halo instructor for five years and received many awards, including the combat infantry badge for his time in Vietnam. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman who traveled the world enjoying what he loved. He was a great provider to his family and a loving husband.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gladys, and their six children, Susan Hartell, Debby Brigman, Cheryl Gilliam, Catherine Judy, Michael Paiser and Patrick Paiser; a brother, Pete Paiser; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Special Forces Association, Chapter 1-18, P.O. Box 118, Fayetteville N.C., 28302

Grace M. Tetting

Grace Mae Tetting, 98, of Shawano, passed away on Sunday morning, June 2, 2019, at Atrium Post Acute Care of Shawano at Evergreen.

Grace was born May 28, 1921, in White Lake to the late Albert and Effie (Moesch) Spohn. She attended school in Shawano, graduating from Shawano High School. On July 7, 1939, she was united in marriage to Willard Tetting in Shawano. He preceded her in death Oct. 16, 1988. Grace held various jobs over the years, including cooking at the hospital and driving the city cab. Grace also did some waitressing, joking she was never broke with change in her pocket. She was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the AmVets auxiliary and the hospital auxiliary.

Donald Cameron Mueller

Donald Cameron Mueller, born Nov. 27, 1922, in Ricketts, Iowa, to the late Charles and Mathilda (Rabe) Mueller, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay on Thursday, May 30, 2019, at the age of 96.

Donald graduated from the first class of Bonduel High School in 1940. He was drafted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater in the Philippines, New Guinea and Japan from 1943-1946 as a sergeant in the 3rd ESB Special Brigade as a medic. After his service in the armed forces, he operated Mueller’s Tavern from 1946-1963 and Mueller’s TV from 1963 until retirement in 1995. Donald was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel.

He was united in marriage to the former Mary Elizabeth (Hoffmann) Froelich on Dec. 30, 1989, at St. Martin Catholic Church in Cecil.
