Caroline B. Much, 85, of the township of Union, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center, Clintonville, surrounded by her family.

The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Marion, is assisting her family.

Patricia A. Armstrong

Patricia (Pat) Anne Armstrong, 68, passed away on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at Riverside Hospice Center. She was born on June 7, 1947, in Rockford, Illinois, but she and her children considered Shawano home.

Patricia is survived by her beloved children: daughter, Rhonda S. (Michael) Armstrong-Miller, of Stoughton; sons, Len W. (Kristy) Armstrong, of Manitowoc, Gene R. DallaSanta, of Escanaba, and Ronald J. Armstrong, of Escanaba. She is further survived by the grandchildren she adored, Austin, Riese and Riley Miller (Rhonda), Ashley and Kiley Armstrong (Len), Anthony, Christian, Dalton and Blaise (Gene); and great-grandchildren, Arianna and Aaden (Gene).

Preceding her in death were her parents, William Phillip and Lorraine (Petit) Sullivan; brothers, Phillip M., William F., Donald L. and Phillip D. Sullivan; and sister, Evelyn M. Armstrong.

Ruth Richter

Ruth V. Richter, 82, of Shawano, formerly of Bonduel, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, in Shawano.

Ruth was born on Aug. 2, 1933, in the town of Hartland, the daughter of the late Si and Ethel (Westerfeld) Uelmen. On Oct. 17, 1953, Ruth was united in marriage to Elmer E. Richter at St. John Lutheran Church in Pulcifer. Elmer and Ruth enjoyed 62 years together before Elmer passed away on Feb. 10, 2016.

Ruth had arthritis for over 50 years and had many trials because of it. She also had Alzheimer’s. Faith in God kept her strong, and she seldom complained.

Ruth could make everyone smile with her sense of humor. Her family meant everything to her and she meant the world to her family. She enjoyed ceramic painting, playing cards, was excellent in the kitchen and also enjoyed watching sports on television.

Two of Ruth’s biggest joys were music and dancing. Ruth and Elmer are surely dancing together in heaven.

Ronald D. Briske

Ronald “Ron” Briske, 51, of Pella, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano after a short battle with cancer.

Ronald Dean Briske was born on March 24, 1964, at the Clintonville Hospital to Carl and Sharon (Hubert) Briske. He was raised in the Pella area and graduated from Marion High School in 1982. After high school, Ron started working as a meat cutter at T & C Market in Shawano until the mid-1990s. Then he was employed by Stone Creations, Shawano, making and installing granite countertops for some time. Ron also worked for a short time as a dietician at ManorCare Health Services, Shawano. Currently, he was employed at Graf Creamery, Zachow, making butter.

Elta A. Sievert

Elta A. Sievert (Kallies), 94, of Green Bay, found eternal peace on Friday, March 4, 2016, at Bornemann Nursing Home.

Elta was born on Jan. 28, 1922, to the late Ernest and Martha Kallies and raised on a farm near Zachow. She was the middle child of five, and the last survivor of the Kallies family siblings. As a child growing up on a farm, in a different period of time, Elta was accustomed to hard work. She spoke of the farm chores requiring manual labor, including plowing behind a team of horses. Through it all, Elta was able to finish eighth grade at the school down the road, which was a pretty big thing then.

Ruth L. Baker

Ruth L. Baker, 91, of Shawano, was escorted into heaven by the angels and loved ones that have gone before her, on Saturday, March 5, 2016.

Ruth was born on Feb. 3, 1925, in Symco to the late Richard and Emma (Reich) Fetzer. Ruth came to Shawano in 1945. She married Gilbert E. Gottschalk on May 22, 1947. Gilbert died in November 1961. She married Daniel Baker on Feb. 10, 1973, in Shawano. They just celebrated 43 years of marriage.

Ruth worked at the FWD in Clintonville and was a county agent for the Waupaca County Farm Bureau. After Gilbert’s death, Ruth owned and operated Gottschalk’s Fashionette and Gottschalk’s Cleaners. After closing the dry cleaners, Ruth and Dan opened up the Laundry Basket, which they ran for over 25 years. Ruth also worked for Studio One.

In Ruth’s younger days, when she was still at home, she gave piano lessons. Her daughter, Vicki, is following in her mother’s footsteps and giving piano lessons, also.

George A. Rhode

George A. Rhode, 87, of Gillett, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016, and is now reunited in heaven with his beloved wife of 57 years, Helen.

George was born on Aug. 8, 1928, in Wabeno, son of the late August and Olga (Riegert) Rhode. He was raised in Wabeno and Gillett, and attended Gillett High School, graduating in 1946. George then took over the family farm and was a self- employed dairy farmer for 50 years.

George married the former Helen Akemann on Oct. 3, 1953. She preceded him in death on June 5, 2011. He loved his wife deeply and missed her every day since her passing. The couple lived their entire married life in Gillett and were blessed with one son, one daughter, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Norma Wegner

Norma (Fink) Wegner, formerly of Bonduel, passed away in Green Bay on March 7, 2016, at the age of 105.

Norma was born on Nov. 16, 1910, in Bonduel to Hulda (Boerst) and John Fink. On June 6, 1934, she married Hilbert Wegner, and they operated cheese factories in the Bonduel area for many years.

Norma is survived by her son, Gary (Darlene); grandchildren, Becky (Matt) Lubensky, Mark Wegner and Scott Wegner, and their mother, Carolyn (Dick) Mancheski, as well as Paul (Janelle) Wegner and Peter Wegner; and great-grandchildren, Kade, Kyra and Kylen Lubensky and Anna Wegner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilbert; son, Harlan (Ann Hougaard); and her siblings, sisters Helen, Hazel, Leona and Eileen, and brothers John, Elmer and John.

Ralph E. Engelhardt

Ralph E. Engelhardt, 69, of the Township of Belle Plaine, Shawano County, passed away on Sunday evening, March 6, 2016, at Shawano Health Services.

Ralph was born in Shawano on March 4, 1947, as the son of the late Ralph and Dorothy “Dotty” (Johnson) Engelhardt. At the age of 12, he moved with his family to San Diego, California, where he later graduated from Mission Bay High School in 1965.

In 1966, Ralph went on to serve his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He drove a supply truck for the Army and was injured in a truck accident. Ralph was discharged and returned home in 1968 to San Diego, where he was united in marriage to Rhonda Jones on April 4, 1970. The couple had two sons and later divorced.
