Adeline D. Beilfuss

Adeline Dorothy Beilfuss, 89, of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, in Shawano. Adeline was born on April 22, 1926, in the town of Maple Valley to the late Charley and Hazel (Boettcher) Zahn.

She was united in marriage to Allen H. Beilfuss on Oct. 25, 1948, in Bessemer, Michigan. Allen preceded her in death on March 10, 2001. Although she was born in Oconto County, she lived most of her life in Shawano County, where she and Allen farmed.

Adeline was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine.

Adeline is survived by her son, Allen (Elizabeth) Beilfuss Jr., of Shawano, and her foster daughter, Peggy (Allen) Lange, of Shawano. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Amber and Eric Beilfuss; her foster grandchildren, Brian and Lisa; as well as two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Hailey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen; one son, Ricky; her parents; and one brother, Marvin Zahn.

Carl F. Westphal

Carl F. Westphal, 90, of Clintonville, passed away early Tuesday morning, Feb. 23, 2016, at Aster Retirement Community, Clintonville.

Carl Fred Westphal was born in the town of Pella, Shawano County, on Nov. 15, 1925, to the late Fred & Amanda (Ray) Westphal. He was baptized in December 1925 by the Rev. Emil Stubenvoll and confirmed July 1939 by the Rev. Gerhardt Nass at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pella. He was a member of the Luther League at church.

Carl graduated from Fairview grade school in 1939 and Marion High School in 1943. On Aug. 18, 1951, he was united in marriage to Margaret Elsie Roever at Peace Lutheran Church, Split Rock, by the Rev. Rueben Stubenvoll.

Dorothea A. Gehrt

Dorothea A. Gehrt, 91, of Clintonville, passed away on Saturday morning, Feb. 20, 2016, at the Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center in Clintonville.

Dorothea was born on Oct. 4, 1924, in Milwaukee as the daughter of the late Virgil and Pearl (Lamp) Wulfson. After moving to Clintonville with her family, Dorothea graduated from Clintonville High School with the Class of 1942. She was united in marriage to Raymond Gehrt. The couple had two children and later divorced.

Dorothea worked numerous jobs, which took her to Appleton and Milwaukee while raising her family. She moved back to Clintonville after her retirement. She was a past member of Christus Lutheran Church.

Dorothea enjoyed sewing and gardening. She was artistic and just a fun person to be around.

Madeline J. Rebholz

Madeline “Madge” J. Rebholz, 79, of Shawano, passed away on Saturday evening, Feb. 20, 2016, at the Appleton Medical Center, where she had been a patient for the past two days.

Madge was born on Oct. 22, 1936, in the town of Grant, Shawano County, a daughter of the late Frank and Adela (Voigt) Luchterhand. She attended St. James Lutheran Grade School and later Shawano High School, where she graduated in 1955.

Madge was united in marriage to David J. Retzlaff on Dec. 19, 1964. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Shawano. Madge had been employed at the Shawano Clinic for nearly 44 years, working as a receptionist and in medical records. Her husband preceded her in death on June 5, 1997. When Madge retired, she drove patients to appointments at various locations in the Medi-Van.

Karen Bartelt-Marshall

Karen Bartelt-Marshall went home on Feb. 13, 2016.

Karen was born on Sept. 9, 1956, in Milwaukee to Burton Bartelt (deceased) and Lorraine (Malueg) Bartelt (deceased). She lived in Wisconsin until 1992, when she moved to Florida for a job with Comcast as the pay per view coordinator for the area from Jacksonville to Key West. As coordinator she met many boxing legends, including Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran and Oscar De La Hoya.

Karen met the love of her life, Scott Marshall, in 1996 and was married in 1998. Their marriage ceremony was portrayed on the Learning Channel as “A Wedding Story” to let everyone know that you will always find the right person – it’s never too late.

In 2005, they moved to New Mexico, where Karen was finally able to have horses in her own yard. Karen loved her horses, which included one she rescued.

Arbutus C. Seelig-Krueger

Arbutus “Dolly” C. Seelig-Krueger, 85, of the town of Matteson, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, at Appleton Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Arbutus “Dolly” Carrie Seelig-Krueger was born on Feb. 2, 1931, in the Township of Waukechon, Shawano County, to the late Stewart and Olga (Knoff) Thompson. She attended school in the Manawa area and played clarinet in the high school band. After graduation, Dolly was united in marriage to Elmer Seelig on Oct. 23, 1948. The couple worked on the family farm in the town of Wyoming and later in the town of Matteson. She worked at Noritage in Embarrass, Hansen Glove Factory in Clintonville and the F.W.D. Corporation, Clintonville, from which she retired after many years.

Dolly was a member of Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville, where she was a familiar face in worship as well as in the kitchen. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Krueger in 2002 at Christus on her birthday.

Dennis W. Kirsch

Dennis W. Kirsch, 64, of Bonduel, died on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, at his home.

Dennis was born on March 1, 1951, in Bonduel to the late Walter P. and Cecelia (Krause) Kirsch. Dennis was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. After graduating from high school, Dennis continued farming on the family farm and was proud when it was recognized as a Century Farm. When his mother started researching their family genealogy, it inspired Dennis to learn more about his family roots. He was also a lifetime member of the Shawano County Agricultural Society.

Martha V. Mecikalski

Martha “Mardi” V. Mecikalski, 80, of Cecil, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, in Shawano.

Martha was born in Freedom, Minnesota, on Dec. 26, 1935, the daughter of the late Gustave and Mary (Borash) Lutzke.

Mardi is survived by her husband, LeRoy Sr.; their children, Lee Jr., David, Thomas (Rhonda) and Amy; seven grandchildren, Julie, Brandon, Angie, Courtney, Josh, Matt and Andrew; and three great-grandchildren, Bobbie, Matthew and Joey.

Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 16000 W. National Ave., New Berlin, with the Rev. Arul Ponnaiyan officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services.
