Bonduel man wins $5,000 at Powerball

Leader Reporter

A Bonduel businessman is $5,000 richer after buying a winning ticket for last Saturday night's Powerball drawing.

Bill Nolan of Nolan Livestock bought his ticket, which matched four of the five numbers, at Lee'z Gas and Mini Mart in Bonduel.

Nolan said he still had not yet claimed his prize from lottery officials, but planned to do so soon.

"It's not really all that much for winnings," said Nolan. "When you figure out what they will take for taxes you could probably throw a good party or take a trip but not much else."

In their third team outing, the club posted a praiseworthy 17th place finish out of 31 teams of K-8th graders. Peer support and sportsmanship were visible as members gave each other words of encouragement. Generous pats on the back to opponents after a good round showed that the members were there for the enjoyment of the sport, to learn from one another, and to improve their skills.

Efforts are underway by some county officials to have an ordinance enacted that would regulate transient sales.
