Music school offers preschool program

Annual Lumberjack Days coming to Tigerton

<p>The village of Tigerton will host its 45th annual Lumberjack Days celebration this weekend at the Tigerton Park Shelter.</p><p>"This is a great community event and a way for businesses in town to thank the people for their patronage for the year," said Wally Breitenfeldt, chairmen of Lumberjack Days and president of the Tigerton Advancement Association. "It's kind of a general homecoming festival for Tigerton."</p><p>Activities will kick off at 1 p.m.

The village of Tigerton will host its 45th annual Lumberjack Days celebration this weekend at the Tigerton Park Shelter.

Activities will kick off at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Park Shelter with a silent auction, which will remain open until 6 p.m.

College senior wins Miles of Art poster contest

The Shawano Country Tourism Council has announced the winners of the Miles of Art poster contest.

First place and $750 award went to Angela Leopold, a University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point senior majoring in graphic design. Second place and $250 was awarded to Hannah Herkert, a UW-Stevens Point freshman majoring in illustration.

Leopold's winning design will be used in marketing and promotional materials for the inaugural Shawano Country Miles of Art event, a fall celebration of the arts and nature throughout Shawano and Menominee counties Oct. 7-9.
