Volunteer Profile

<p>Steve Fellman volunteers for the Habitat for Humanity program.</p><p>He was born in Milwaukee, graduating from Whitefish Bay High School.</p><p>He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Denison University in Granville, Ohio. For the next 33 years, he was vice president of purchasing at the former Phenix Manufacturing in Shawano. In 1989 the business was sold, but Fellman managed the property for 11 years before it was sold. He was married to Mary for 37 years before her death in 2009.

Reading reaps rewards for family book club

<p>The Hillcrest Family Book Club is in its second year at Hillcrest Primary School in Shawano. Kris Going started the club after reading about other similar clubs in a publication.</p><p>"Fewer and fewer families are reading out loud together," Going said.
