Column: Saying goodbye

Tears are welling up in my eyes and I must blink a couple of times in order to see the computer screen. We just said goodbye to our two sons, hugging them tight and letting them know we love them. One is flying back to California; the other one is driving back to college. I'm so thankful the weather is unseasonably warm with good traveling conditions.

I feel schmaltzy, and my heart is heavy. I'm sad but feel complete at the same time. It was such a tender, sweet visit.

Column: Facing the tooth of the matter

About a month ago, one of my front teeth broke. The broken part didn't fall out, it was just loose. For the most part it stayed put, but on those days it kept getting out of place, I simply put some sugar free gum in there to hold the sliver of broken tooth in place.

Visions of using Super Glue came to mind, but since my past experiences with that product have all been horrific, the visions of having all parts of my mouth stuck together and unusable came to mind.
