Boys golf: Witt-Birn 2nd, Bonduel 4th at first CWC stop

Led by some top individual finishes, the Wittenberg-Birnamwood and Bonduel boys golf teams placed in the top five in the first Central Wisconsin Conference Meet of the season at Cedar Spring Golf Course in Manawa on Monday.

Justin Keeney fired an 18-hole round of 86, while Ian Resch shot an 87 for Witt-Birn to place seventh and eighth, respectively. The Chargers finished with a score of 360 to take second, just six shots behind Pacelli.

Maverick Beran finished 10th with a round of 92, while Logan Balliett was 12th with a 95. Brian Nelson (100) rounded out the five-golfer team.

Carter Siolka fired an 81 to lead Bonduel and place fourth as an individual. The Bears took fourth as a team with a score of 406.

Colin Hanus placed 18th after shooting a 98. Aaron Schaal (102), Brooks Dehn (125) and Jackson Krause (138) rounded out the team.

Marion placed seventh with a team score of 482. Myles Peterson (112). Mollie Schoen (116) and Cody Clegg (117) led the Mustangs. Ellen Radies and McGregor Matz each shot 137s.

Josh Hoffman fired a 96 to place 16th and lead the Menominee Indian/Gresham co-op that took ninth. Desmond Ninham (131), Johhny Kerry (133), Saswaen Shawanokasic (140) and Gregory Turner (158) also represented the co-op.
