Here is a look at some of the top performances in the area over the past week:

Bayleigh Laabs - Shawano volleyball

The senior setter has helped the Hawks to a 10-3 record early in the season. In eight matches at the Friendship Tournament last Friday and Saturday, Laabs totaled 129 assists. She posted 64 more assists as Shawano earned a 4-1 record in the Preble Invitational on Tuesday.

Matthew Morse - Clintonville soccer

The Truckers’ senior recorded three goals across three matches last Saturday to help the team win the Gresham Tournament. Morse scored twice against Green Bay West to help the team to a 2-0 win while scoring 45 seconds into the team’s 2-0 victory over Gresham/Bowler.

Karisa Nietzer - Gresham volleyball

The junior helped Gresham win the Wildcat Kickoff last Saturday, totaling 32 kills over the team’s three wins. She posted 15 kills in a sweep of Elcho, nine kills against Sevastopol and eight more kills in a clash with Bowler.

Jessie Wilson - Clintonville cross-country

The freshman runner had a very memorable start to his high school career, placing fourth to lead the Clintonville boys team during its first race of the fall last Thursday. Wilson finished the course in 17 minutes, 57.3 seconds.

Jada Waters - Bowler volleyball

The Panthers’ senior stuffed the stat sheet to help the team pick up wins over White Lake and Tri-County on Tuesday. She recorded 14 assists, served 10 aces and had four kills in the win over White Lake while tallying 13 assists and seven digs against Tri-County.
