Roger ‘Teeko’ Waukau Jr.

Roger “Teeko” Waukau Jr., age 60 of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018. Born on Aug. 1, 1958, in Keshena, he is the son of Diana (Cox) Waukau and the late Roger Waukau Sr. Teeko worked at Menominee Tribal Enterprises as a timber harvest administrator forester for over 40 years. Roger enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and duck hunting. He was an avid Packers and Brewers fan. He had a passion for listening to classic rock. Teeko’s life revolved around his family and grandchildren. He spent a lot of time attending his nephew’s sporting events. On the weekends, he loved nothing more than having his grandchildren over. His favorite thing to do with them was to take them fishing. He enjoyed teaching them about all the different kinds of fish and lures. He was talented at tying flies for trout fishing. Roger is a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit.

Teeko is survived by his children, Josh (Jennifer Stubbe) Waukau and Jessica (Kyle) VanDerLinden; grandchildren, Braxton and Arabella VanDerLinden, plus one on the way; his mom, Diana Waukau; two brothers, Ron (Beth) Waukau and Reynold (Amy Gansen) Waukau; one sister, Jacqueline (Dan) Pubanz; several special nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Roger Waukau Sr.

Funeral services for Roger will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. The Rev. Joel Jores is officiating. Visitation will be at the Neopit Community Center from 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, until the time of the service.
