Janice Marie Tourtillott ‘Miskogiizhikikwe’ Red Sky Woman

Janice Marie Tourtillott, 79, of Shawano, died on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, while surrounded by her family. Born on Feb. 17, 1939, in Keshena, she is the daughter of the late Charles and Emily (Reil) Tourtillott. She is a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit. Janice loved riding in the woods, partridge hunting, the Packers and family gatherings.

Janice is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Emil) Dalum, Kathryn (Dale) Ziarnik, Sue Weso and Linda (Matt) White Sr.; her grandchildren, Kaso, Matt, Keniahkiw, Steve, Julie, Pehsapan, B.J., Binnay, Jesse, Matt Jr., Walter and Patrick; 22 great-grandchildren, including Awan, whom she raised; special friends, Deb Web, Nanine, Olga, Patsy, Sibby, Bird and Al; godchildren, Marilyn, Irene and C.M., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including special fur babies, Cash and Remington.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her children, Jacqueline, Cheryl and Leno; grandson, Tim; 11 siblings, Miles, Bernard, Russell, Howard, Vivian, Lloyd, Vern, Zane, Marge, Curtis and Dooner.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit with the Rev. Nonito Barra officiating. Visitation was held at the Sue Weso residence, 14475 Michael Circle in Gillett from 2 p.m. on Monday and will continue until the procession leaves for church on Wednesday. A wake service was held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
