The Bears got their season off to a strong start by picking up a road win over the Cougars.

Coleman scored first in the contest before Bonduel rattled off the next three scores. The Bears racked up 406 yards of offense.

Riddik Bohm rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns. He scampered 39 yards on his first score and 15 on the game-sealing touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Parker Bohm threw for 234 yards and two scores. Isaac Garside caught a 69-yard touchdown pass while Colin Hanus hauled in a 35-yarder for Bonduel’s first score of the season. Garside finished with 87 receiving yards while Hanus had 119. Parker Bohm also picked off a pass.

Northland Pines 22

The Chargers also earned up a nonconference road win to open their season, outscoring Northland Pines 22-6 in the second half to pull away.

Ethan Wesolowski rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns. His touchdowns came on runs of 1, 5 and 90 yards.

Jack Stewart finished with 90 rushing yards and had a 17-yard fourth-quarter touchdown run. Shane Herb hauled in a 14-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Logan Balliett for the Chargers other touchdown.

Northern Elite 55

Marion/Tigerton 18

The Marion/Tigerton co-op could not defend home field in a nonconference road loss to Northern Elite.

Anthony Tischauser caught eight passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Marion/Tigerton offense.

Quarterback Austin Hoffmann completed 11 passes for 160 yards and two touchdowns while Izaiah Hidde rushed for 104 yards and a 53-yard touchdown on 13 carries.

Lena/STAA 44

Menominee Indian 0

Menominee Indian could not find the end zone in a season-opening loss to MONLPC-8 foe Lena/STAA.

Pasen Waupoose led the Menominee Indian offense with 81 rushing yards on 18 carries. Menominee Indian did not complete a pass in the contest.

Adrian Waupoose led the defense with eight tackles while Maurice Waupoose had an interception.
