Richard L. Kautz Sr.

Richard Lee Kautz Sr., 77, of Wisconsin Rapids, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Dr. Carlton Andersen and the Rev. Timothy Wenger will officiate. Military honors will be conducted. Inurnment will take place at Roseland Cemetery in Marion at a later date. Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018, at St. Luke’s. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center is honored to be serving the Kautz Family.

Richard was born on Feb. 23, 1941, in Marion to Leo and Blanche (Nelson) Kautz. He was a graduate of Clintonville High School. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962. Richard married the love of his life, Sharon Fredrick, on Aug. 31, 1963. They were blessed with nearly 55 years together.

He enjoyed bowhunting, fishing, tree farming and attending old tractor and machinery shows. He was employed by ITT Financial and retired with 39 years of service. Richard received numerous awards while employed in the financial field. He was a faithful member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, where he served as an elder and usher for many years. He is loved and will be deeply missed.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; children, Tammy (Linda Henderson) Kautz, Lori (Dan) Jacobson and Richard (Denise Thompson) Kautz Jr.; grandchildren: Elliot Britz, Zackary Kautz, Kayla Kautz and Camren Kautz; great-grandson, Drayton Britz; siblings: Gary (Kristen) Kautz and Karmen Kautz. He is further survived by many extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald Kautz and Michael Kautz.
