Irene R. Coyer

Irene Rose Coyer, from Bowler, 66, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at Theda Care Medical Center in Appleton following a lengthy and hard fought battle with diabetes.

Irene was born on Jan. 10, 1952, in Petaluma, California, to George Walter Lake and Dorothy Irene Blakeslee. She studied at Bay De Noc Community College, and graduated with a degree in nursing.

She married Peter Michael Coyer on Sept. 16, 1978, and the pair spent 40 wonderful years together traveling the country. She spent her days raising her daughter, Melissa, and stepdaughter, Michelle. The two shared a love for animals, especially for dogs. Irene could always be spotted with a pug following on her heels.

Irene’s love for dogs led her to found a charity known as the High Roller Club, which donated wheelchairs for dogs in need. Irene also had a love for arts and crafts, painting murals all over her home in Bowler and spending time with her grandchildren creating clay sculptures. Her husband, daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Irene is survived by her husband, Peter Coyer, her daughter, Melissa “Misty” Suehring, her son-in-law Mike Suehring, her sister Rosemary Reid, and her grandchildren Michael, Chase, Ariana and Ella Suehring. They will all miss her very much.

A private celebration of life will be held.
