Audrey W. Krause

Audrey W. Krause, 89, of Shawano, passed away on Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, at Atrium Post Acute Care Shawano/Maple Lane, where she had been a resident for the past three years.

Audrey was born July 25, 1928, in the Town of Richmond, Shawano County, a daughter of the late Ernst and Margaret (Wilber) Ziemer. She attended St. James Lutheran School followed by the Shawano schools. On Feb. 1, 1947, Audrey was united in marriage to Victor D. Krause at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. He preceded her in death on March 5, 2012.

She was a good and faithful member of St. James Lutheran Church. Audrey was employed as the chief cook and supervisor at the Shawano Hospital for 36 years. Her hobbies included baking, embroidering, and playing cards.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Margie (Dan) Tetting, of Shawano, Shirley (Roger) Porath, of Appleton, and Mary (Bruce) Lemirande, of Green Bay; her grandchildren, Danette (Mike) Locke, Krissy (Mark) Sack, Dave Tetting, Jan (Ben Fisher) Porath, Sara (Paul Blashka) Lemirande, Ann (Pat) Laurent, and Chad Porath; her great-grandchildren, Meghan, Malia, Patrick, Ian, Alex, Zach, and Sam; her sister, Shirley Born; her sisters-in-law, Annabelle Krause and Delores Ziemer; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; her brothers, Elmer Wilber, Ernest Ziemer in infancy, and Victor Ziemer; and her sister, Margaret Norton.

A memorial service for Audrey will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano. The Rev. Dr. Timm Griffin will officiate. Inurnment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Shawano. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until the hour of service.

The family thanks the staff of Maple Lane, especially Sally, Tina, and Lacey, the wound care nurses at ThedaCare, Corrine and her assistants, and the ThedaCare At Home Hospice nurses for their kind and compassionate care.
