Maltbey, Waukau selected to WFCA All-Star game

Shawano High School senior Dakota Maltbey was selected to the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-Star game as an offensive lineman.

The senior was one of 44 players in the state selected to the North Large All-Star roster.

Following his final season for the Hawks, Maltbey was named Bay Conference’s offensive lineman of the year and was unanimously selected to the all-conference first team on offense.

Menominee Indian High School senior Meshaen Waukau earned a spot on the Eight-Man All-Star roster as a running back and outside linebacker.

Waukau was named to the WFCA all-state first team in November and led the state with 1,937 rushing yards last season. Waukau is Menominee Indian’s all-time leading rusher and was named the conference’s co-offensive player of the year.

The All-Star games are held at UW-Oshkosh’s Titan Stadium on July 21. The Eight-Man game starts at 10 a.m. and the Large School game 5 p.m.
