William Norton Jr.

William “Bill” Norton Jr., 90, of Shawano, completed his journey of life on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, after a sudden illness.

Bill was born on June 11, 1927, in Shawano, a son of the late William and Jessie (Lake) Norton Sr. Bill was a hard-working man, first farming with his family and neighbors, and then joining the Army to serve with honor in Korea before the conflict. He loved reminiscing about the old days, and kept scrapbooks of his favorite memories. His happiest moments were spent with family, and he had plenty of love for all.

Survivors include his son, John (Cynthia) Norton Sr., of Shawano, his daughter, Darlene (Mike) Wendorff, of Seymour, his daughter-in-law, Paula Hohn, of Shawano, 10 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, including his goddaughter, Deborah Marquardt, and special niece, Brenda Koral. He will be rejoining his parents, William and Jessie Norton Sr.; his son, Donald Norton; and his siblings, Iona Martin, Anna Marquardt, Marge Yeager and Roger Norton.

Funeral services for William Norton will be held on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at noon at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Pastor Scott Ludford will officiate. Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
