Clintonville officials are asking for public feedback on a proposed plan to revitalize the city’s downtown.

Andrew Dane, an urban planning consultant with Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc., Appleton, has put together a proposal after completing a market study, surveying the community and meeting with Clintonville leaders and downtown business owners. That proposal will be available for public viewing from 5-7:30 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Clintonville Senior Center, 30 S. Main St.

Included in the proposal is a conceptual plan for an enhanced Pigeon River Walkway, including a half-mile loop along the Pigeon River, as well as new residential development on the site of the mercantile building, said Sharon Eveland, Clintonville city administrator. Eveland emphasized that a successful planning effort requires active public participation, and she urged citizens to attend the meeting and offer feedback.

Community members will be able to look at the plan, ask questions and hear a short presentation at 5:30 p.m. Registration is not required for this free event. For questions about accessibility or to request accommodations, contact the city clerk at 715-823-7600 at least three days before the meeting.
