Another art show will be at the WOWSPACE in just a few short months, as Walls of Wittenberg hosts “Artists’ Free Play: VI” from April 21 through May 13.

“I’m always amazed with the amount of talent we have here in the area,” event coordinator Elaine Diffor said. “The variety of artwork is impressive, too.”

The juried show is open to all Wisconsin artists. One of the requirements is that the artwork needs to have been created in the past two years. The piece also cannot have been part of a previous exhibit at the WOWSPACE.

Diffor said the group likes to get the word out early so artists have time to finish any pieces they are working on.

Artists may submit artwork using a variety of formats. Eligible categories include photography, painting, printmaking, mixed media, textiles and three-dimensional work in metal, ceramics and/or wood.

The annual Wine, Beer and Cheese Gala will be held on opening night, April 21, from 7-10 p.m.

“This is our largest fundraiser, and we always have a fun time and a good turnout for the show,” WOW President Elaine Knab said.

Knab noted that pairing the gala with the art show gives guests an opportunity to mingle with the artists.

Advance tickets for the gala are $25 and will go on sale in the next couple of weeks. Tickets will be available at the door for $30.
