Kids From Wisconsin plan auditions in February

As the Kids from Wisconsin performance troupe prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary, the group will hold auditions for singers, dancers and instrumentalists ages 15 to 20 in February.

The Kids from Wisconsin, which began in 1969 to showcase the best faces and talent of Wisconsin’s youth, has grown to become one of the most iconic and beloved performing troupes in the state. To be eligible to audition, performers must be Wisconsin residents or Wisconsin college residents. A full summer commitment is required, as performers will take part in nearly 65 shows from June through the end of August — including a July 11 show in Shawano and twice daily shows at the Wisconsin State Fair.

The troupe is seeking 22 singer/dancers and 13 instrumentalists, including musicians who play percussion, piano, guitar, bass, trombone, trumpet and woodwind instruments. Auditions will be held Feb. 16 in Eau Claire and Feb. 23-25 in Milwaukee. Interested performers should register online at Walk-on auditions will only be permitted if time allows. Out-of-state college students should arrange an alternative audition by calling 414-266-7067.
