Llewellyn Braun

Llewellyn Benjamin Vernon Braun, better known as “Buddy,” truly lived for 73 years. Born on July 17, 1944, in Gillett, to Walter and Nora Braun, Buddy has impacted every life he touched, ever since. Never giving up without a fight, he passed peacefully on Nov. 19, 2017. Although he has left us to be with the good Lord in heaven, the memory of him will forever remain.

Buddy was absolutely a legend. Anywhere he went, whether here or there, near or far, somebody always recognized him. Dressed to impress in his Elvis attire, there was always someone asking for an autograph or photo with him. If you were lucky enough, he would even sing for you. Not only was he a talented performer, excellent artist and superb storyteller, he also enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, camping, western movies, gold mining and socializing. Buddy had an instinct for survival, and an intellect for self-sufficiency. He proudly owned and operated his own farm, worked as an automotive technician, security guard, truck driver, and graduated from the World Wide College of Auctioneering.

Extremely honored to carry on his name, he is survived by his great-grandchildren, Major Llewellyn Carter Vaughn and Wyatt Lee Kocken; by his children, Michele Vaughn, Rochele Braun, Kristin and Chad Winnekens, Clint and Kirstin Braun; by his siblings, Lulabelle Drath, Muriel and Jim Wilke, Charitee and Joe McKenna, and Charmaine Stewart; by his grandchildren, Cory and Genay Vaughn, Alisha Kocken, Coleton and Delayna Winnekens, and Chase Braun. In addition, by many cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends that made a positive impact throughout Buddy’s life.

Llewellyn was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Britney and Austin Braun; by his parents, Walter and Nora Braun; his brother, Harold Braun; his sister, Virginia Patzer; and brother-in-laws, Edward Patzer and Leon Drath.
