Gillett plans Christmas festival in December

Gillett’s annual Christmas in the Park is expanding this year to include a craft and vendor fair. In addition to the traditional festivities at Zippel Park, 150 McKenzie Street, Gillett. St. John’s Lutheran Church will open its doors to vendors and holiday shoppers alike at 101 W. Main St., from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 2.

Families can celebrate the magic of Christmas with horse-drawn sleigh/wagon rides through Zippel Park along with crafts, face-painting, balloon animals, a 4-H cake walk, cookies, hot chocolate and more from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Inside the Expo Hall, Santa will arrive in style by sleigh at noon and listen to children’s wish lists until 4:30 p.m. Each child will receive a free goodie bag from Santa. Carols from the Gillett High School choir will begin at 4:45 p.m. Food and refreshments can be purchased at the church as well as in the park.

Lighted holiday displays from various local businesses and organizations will be illuminated at 5 p.m. After that, a fireworks display will light up the sky. For information, call 920-376-1706 or email
