Marcia Heinz

Marcia (Wallrich) Heinz, 91, passed away peacefully on Nov. 21, 2017, at Saint Michaels Hospital in Stevens Point. Marcia was born on Aug. 20, 1926, the daughter of Marshall and Ruth (Young) Wallrich.

She married Keith William Heinz on Sept. 8, 1949 in Shawano.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed fishing from her pier on Shawano Lake, entertaining friends and family, and going to the casino with her friends. She also had a passion for feeding and watching birds and also did a national Audubon count on Jan. 1 every year. Her love for golden retrievers was passed on to her sons and grandchildren. Mostly, she will be remembered for her singing and riddles.

Marcia is survived by sons, Jeff (Jackie) Heinz, of Amherst, and Steve (Rudi) Heinz of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Bill Goin, of Plano, Texas, Jason (Stacey) Heinz, of Savannah, Georgia, Liz Heinz, of Amherst, and Nicki Heinz, of Amherst; and great-grandchildren, Blake Heinz, Ellery and Barrett Heinz.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Ruth Young Wallrich; her son, Larry Heinz; brothers Dick Wallrich and Jim Wallrich, and sister, Jeanne Morris.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Waupaca. The Rev. Nigel Bousfield will officiate. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst, and again at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. A burial of cremains will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank all of her caregivers and staff at The Lodge in Plover; also to her medical staff at Saint Michaels.
