Steven Walter Nicolaison

Steven Walter Nicolaison, 76, was born July 17, 1941, and passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Arizona on Nov. 7, 2017, after a brief illness.

Steve graduated from Waupaca High School in 1959. Steve married Judith Dernbach in December 1961 and together had two children, Deborah and Daniel.

After the untimely departure of his first wife, Steve married Christine Stoehr in February 1974. Together, they had one child, Jennifer.

After high school graduation, Steve attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for Agriculture. He then worked for several years on his father’s farm in Waupaca, before being employed with Morning Glory Farms for approximately 10 years as a milk inspector. In 1972, he purchased the Sears Catalog and Appliance Store, which he owned until 1983. After running the store for several years, Steve ventured out as a salesman for semi-trailers. He worked for Trailer Equipment in Green Bay for approximately eight years, then went to Midwest Trailers out of Verona, until he retired at the age of 62.

Steve enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, Packer games and Corvettes. He also enjoyed hanging out with his friends and boating on the Chain O’ Lakes in Waupaca. However, his favorite past time was playing with his four puppies, Ole, Sven, Frankie and Billie.

Steve is survived by his wife, Christine (Stoehr) Nicolaison; his three children, Deborah (Nicolaison) Jacobson married to Scott Jacobson, Daniel Nicolaison married to Lori (Peterson) Nicolaison, and Jennifer (Nicolaison) Domack married to Paul Domack; his seven grandchildren, Shelby Jacobson, Lauren Jacobson, Sarah Nicolaison, Jenna Nicolaison, Rachel Nicolaison, Andrew Domack and Addison Domack.

Steve was predeceased by his first wife, Judith (Dernbach) Nicolaison, and parents, Frank and Sally Nicolaison.

Cremation was performed at the Desert Rose Heather Cremation Center in Tucson, Arizona. We are sad to say our good-byes, but we know that he is at peace.

Hugs, your family
