Library has activities during holiday break

Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Time for holiday traditions, quality time with family and kids on break from school.

All ages are invited to the library Shawano City-County Library, 128 S. Sawyer St., on Wednesday. Story time for the little ones starts at 10 a.m. in the Children’s Department, and the Creation Station will host “No School Lego Day” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. At 3 p.m., the Creation Station will be transformed into an escape room. Groups of friends and family members are invited to try to break out of “Dr. Johnson’s Zombie Apocalypse Laboratory.” The library will close at 5 p.m.

Since Shawano schools are also closed Monday, the library will hold teen activities all day — including games and snacks — from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. A “No School Play-Doh Day” will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Creation Station, after which time another zombie escape room challenge will begin at 2 p.m. Lastly, a craft station will open at 4:30 p.m. and feature make-and-take holiday greeting cards.
