Artfest returns to nature center

This year’s Artfest at Navarino Nature Center, W5646 Lindsten Road, Shiocton, will be bigger than ever with more local artists displaying and selling their creations. It will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., just in time for early holiday shoppers.

Original and hand-crafted treasures at the fest will include: wood, metal, stone and glass art and décor; textiles including quilts, alpaca clothing, pillows, linens and Christmas runners; holiday wreaths, baskets, hand-made cards, candles and ornaments; as well as assorted books, photography, natural remedies, jewelry, lawn ornaments, fairy houses and more.

Admission is $1 per person; children 12 and younger are free. Lunch will be served for a small fee. The event will feature a bake sale and used book sale; proceeds from these sales as well as lunch and admission will benefit environmental education programs at the nature center.
