Clintonville foundation accepting grant applications

The Clintonville Area Foundation, an affiliate of the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, is accepting grant applications until Dec. 1 from eligible charitable organizations serving the Clintonville area.

The CAF is seeking applications for projects or new programs with clear goals and financial accountability, and for which a moderate amount of grant money can make an impact on an area of need.

Grants are made for a broad range of purposes in the area of arts and culture, health and human services, community development, education and environment. Organizations eligible to receive grants are those determined by the IRS to be public charities.

Last year, CAF awarded a total of $10,699 in grants to six area nonprofit organizations:

- CESA 8, $2,800, to sponsor two Clintonville area teachers in the Career Academy Teacher Externship program.

- The Clintonville Area Ambulance Service, $1,000, to purchase portable battery-powered suction units.

- The Clintonville Public School District, $1,000, to purchase and supplement high-need items for the High School Clothes Closet.

- The Clintonville Public School District, $1,899, to fund the set-up and training for the new graduation requirement module.

- The Girls Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes Inc., $2,000, to support a membership engagement initiative in the Clintonville area.

- Navarino Nature Center, $2,000, to purchase trail-grooming equipment for winter sports plus new snowshoes and ski boots.
