The Shawano Invitational on Saturday attracted a field of 26 teams, with runners from all divisions competing against each other.

“It was a fun and competitive meet,” Shawano head coach Steve Stomberg. “We had a lot of schools come in, and all divisions raced together, so it was really a chance for every runner to show what they were capable of. You had Division 3 runners beating Division 1 runners, so that made for an entertaining meet.”

Kaukauna won the girls meet, and Green Bay Preble took the boys title.

Shawano’s boys placed 14th. Senior Chase Lhotka finished 50th overall with a time of 18 minutes, 22 seconds. Sophomore Karsten Anderson came in 61st place at 18:40, with freshman Ethan Chelberg just behind at 18:41.

Freshman Joseph Mente crossed at 19:21 for an 86th-place finish, with sophomore Johnny Dillenburg following at 19:49 for 89th.

Oshkosh North senior Wesley Schiek won the boys race with a time of 16:08.

The Shawano girls placed 11th. Freshmen led Shawano, with Lydia Beyer finishing 18th overall at 20:50 and Claire Guenther coming in 34th at 21:43.

Junior Alice Hoffman crossed the line at 22:34, 57th overall, and junior Madeline Hanson took 95th place with a time of 24:08. Sarah Mente finished 105th in 24:33.

Kaukauna freshman Anna Fauske crossed the finish line first for the girls at 18:45.
