Lola M. Pleshek
Lola M. Pleshek, 87, formerly of the town of Waukechon, Shawano, passed away Friday afternoon, April 11, 2014, at ManorCare of Shawano, where she had been a resident for the past four years.
Lola Conradt was born Jan. 19, 1927, in the town of Ellington, Outagamie County, a daughter of the late Arthur and Martha (Janke) Conradt. She attended country schools and later graduated from Shiocton High School.
On July 17, 1948, she was united in marriage to Adolph Pleshek in Shawano. Lola worked raising her family and working with her husband, Adolph, on the family homestead in the town of Waukechon her entire married life. Her husband preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 1995.
Lola was a former and proud member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in the town of Waukechon and later Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano, where she was active with the St. Anne Society, the Council of Catholic Women, volunteered with the St. Vincent De Paul Society and was a member of the Catholic Knights. Lola was a devout Catholic who was true to her faith as well as her beliefs. Lola was also a past member of the American Rifle Association. She worked hard to raise her family, be a homemaker, as well as help her husband on the farm. She loved to cook for her family, tend her flower gardens and always had a wonderful sense of humor.
Lola is survived by her loving and devoted children, Clarence “Sonny” (Kathy) Pleshek, Roy (Deborah) Pleshek, Patty (Mike) Rindt, Tom (Debra) Pleshek and Tim (Molly Fischer) Pleshek, all of the town of Waukechon; her grandchildren, Adam, Gregg (Emily) and Jesse Pleshek, Reagan and Riley Rindt, Shiela (Greg) Landon, Jimmy, Joshua and Nicole Pleshek; four great-grandchildren, Ethan and Henry Pleshek, Jacob and Bryce Landon. Lola is further survived by her sisters, Dorothy Karbel, of Milwaukee, Janice VanStraten, of Shiocton, and Verla Booth, of Tomahawk Lake; her brothers, Gordon “Bob” Conradt, of Thiensville, Charles (Audrey) Conradt and LeRoy (Jeannine) Conradt, both of Shiocton, and James (JoAnne) Conradt, of Black Creek. Lola is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Victor and Reno Conradt, and her sisters, Margie Conradt and Charlotte Merholtz.
A funeral Mass for Lola Pleshek was celebrated Tuesday, April 15, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. The Rev. Luke Ferris was the celebrant. Interment was in the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery, town of Waukechon. Relatives and friends called at Schroeder-Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano on Monday from 4-7 p.m. and again on Tuesday at Sacred Heart from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. A parish wake service was conducted at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
