Leonard A. Neosh

Leonard A. Neosh, 52, of Neopit, died on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, in Appleton. Born on Sept. 8, 1961, in Shawano, he is the son of Thelma A. (Waubanascum) Neosh and the late Mose Neosh.

Leonard enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served his country as a ranger. Leonard was united in marriage to Dorothy Weber on Oct. 31, 1999, in Keshena and was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Neopit. Leonard lived on the Menominee Reservation most of his life and enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football and spending time with his grandchildren.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his children, Janice (Mike Fish) Neosh, of Green Bay, Sandrea (Robert) Shawano, of Keshena, Aweh-awasit M. Weber, of Kentucky, Mose Neosh, of Sheboygan Falls, Dwight (Shawna) LaRock, of Cecil; his baby, Cordelain Smith; his mother, Thelma; 13 grandchildren; special grandchildren, Dandy Fish and Cashmere Shawano; and two sisters, Stephanie Neosh, of Keshena, and Donna Neosh, of Green Bay.

He is preceded in death by his father, Mose, and two brothers, Lyle and Neil.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Neopit with the Rev. David McElroy, O.Praem, officiating. Visitation is being held at the Noelle Madosh residence, N412 Chief Souligney Road, from 4 p.m. Saturday until the procession leaves for church on Monday. A parish wake service will be held at the residence on Sunday at 7 p.m.

Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
