Aniwa drug bust nets two
Two people were arrested on drug-related charges after authorities executed a search warrant Friday morning on Killdeer Lane in the town of Aniwa.
The warrant was obtained after an investigation provided probable cause that the use and delivery of controlled substances were allegedly occurring at the residence, the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department said.
Sheriff’s officials executed the search warrant with assistance of the Bonduel Police Department.
“A number of items were seized from the residence and are being held as evidence, some of which will require further advanced analysis,” the Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
Authorities arrested a 36-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman for allegedly being in possession of drug paraphernalia and keeping a drug house. It is anticipated that additional charges will be forwarded to the district attorney’s office as the investigation continues, authorities said.
The search warrant was the second one executed in western Shawano County within the past week for similar activity.
A warrant executed Oct. 11 in the village of Birnamwood led to charges this week against a 28-year-old Birnamwood woman.
