Jacqueline Patzer

Jacqueline “Jackie” Patzer, 82, of Tigerton, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Appleton Medical Center.

The former Jacqueline Mae Ruprecht was born on Aug. 11, 1931, in Rosholt to Carl and Evelyn (Haroldson) Ruprecht. She was raised on a small farm in a log cabin in Galloway. Jackie graduated from Rosholt High School in 1949.

She was united in marriage on Nov. 4, 1950, to John C. Hoffman in Rosholt. In her early years, she worked hard picking potatoes, and then started working with her parents and her husband at Ruprecht’s Red Owl in Tigerton.

Jackie went back to school at Antigo Teacher’s College and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1972.

Her husband, John, preceded her in death on November 19, 1978.

She taught at Tigerton Elementary School for 20 years and retired in May 1990. Jackie was married on Dec. 31, 1985, to Harvey L. Patzer in Florida.

She is a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Tigerton. Her interests included golfing, reading romance novels and playing cards, especially bridge. Jackie enjoyed going on fishing trips to Canada, playing blackjack and slot machines in Las Vegas, shopping trips in Door County with friends, and she had a sweet tooth for chocolate. Jackie will be remembered most for her love of her family and grandchildren and always wanted to spend time with everyone over the holidays.

Survivors include her husband, Harvey, and four children, Debbie (Charlie) Harvey, of Shawano, Dan Hoffman, of Tigerton, Dawn (Dave) Sitchler, of Cecil, and David (Heather) Hoffman, of Shawano. There are two stepchildren, Lester (Judy) Patzer of Florida and Jada Moonstone “Janet” Patzer of North Carolina. There are nine grandchildren, Christopher (Michelle) Harvey, Kelly (Curtis) Sufka, Peter Harvey, Laurie (Todd) Clawson, Bryan (Lorelei) Sitchler, Melissa (Luke) Campbell, Ashley Hoffman, David “DJ” Hoffman and McKenzie Gueths. There are three great-grandchildren, Evan, Wyatt and Audriana. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, John.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Tigerton. The Rev. Dennis Creswell will officiate, and burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Tigerton. Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Tigerton, and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
