Man dies in stabbing at Middle Village

By Leader staff writer

Authorities on Monday were not releasing any information regarding a homicide in Middle Village over the weekend.

Sean Grignon, 19, Neopit, died of stab wounds after an incident early Saturday morning.

Menominee Tribal Police did not return calls on Monday.

Ray Greco, an investigator with the FBI office in Green Bay said he could not comment at this time but that information would be made available "in the near future."

According to Bill Roach, assistant U.S. Attorney in Green Bay, said he understood that a subject was in custody in connection with the incident. But he had no other details.

Shawano County District Attorney Gary Robert Bruno said he was contacted at about 3 a.m. Saturday morning regarding a stabbing that occurred in Shawano County.

However, the stabbing occurred in Middle Village, which is within the boundaries of the Menominee Indian Reservation. Bruno said that because the victim was a Native American and the crime occurred on the reservation it became exclusively the jurisdiction of the federal government.

Efforts to reach Grignon's family were not successful.
